Training Visa

Training Visa (407) is a temporary that enables you to participate in occupational training activities to perfect your skills for your job, area of tertiary study, a field of expertise, or a professional development training program in Australia. 

The visa cover three areas of occupational training 

1. Workplace-based training for registration or licensing to get occupational registration, membership or licensing.  

2. Occupational training to improve skills- is specifically tailored and timed to the training needs of the nominated person either concerning a job specified on the list of eligible skilled occupations or involves a nominee who has recent and suitable prior experience.  

3. Professional training for capacity building overseas which include  

-Overseas qualification – for students enrolled in a foreign educational institute 

-Government support – for those who have the help of a government agency in their home country or Australia. 

-Professional development – for overseas employers who wish to send their employees for professional training to benefit the organization. 

With this Visa

You can stay in Australia for up to 2 years. After that, you cannot extend this visa, but you can apply for other options.  This visa also allows you to include a family member if they meet the health and character requirements. Another advantage is that you can travel back and forth from Australia if the visa is valid.  

Eligibility (for Nominees/Applicants)

• You must be 18 years or above 

• You must have an approved sponsor 
• Your sponsor must have nominated you to participate in an occupational training program unless the sponsor is from the Australian Government.  
• You and your family members must have adequate health insurance. 
• You must stay in Australia temporarily and do the things that are allowed on the visa. 
• Having functional English is vital. 

Eligibility (For Sponsors)

• You must be an approved temporary activities sponsor 
• You must directly provide occupational training unless you have an exemption or with an Australian Commonwealth Government agency. 
• You cannot withdraw your sponsorship after the visa grant. 

 PROCESSING TIME

The processing time may take longer if the documents are incomplete or do not pay the correct processing fee. Sometimes, it also depends on how long the immigration takes to verify the information.
