Bridging Visa B (BVB) Subclass 020

Subclass 020 or the Bridging Visa B (BVB) is a temporary visa that allows you to depart from Australia and return while awaiting an application for a substantive visa. Like the BVA, the subclass 020, BVB will permit you to reside in Australia while you await the decision to process your substantive visa.
Subclass 020 or the BVB is the only visa that permits you travelling rights outside Australia while your substantive visa is being processed. If you leave Australia while being on any other category of bridging visa, it will be cancelled upon your departure, and you won’t be able to return.

The subclass 020 or BVB awards the holder of this visa with a travel facility. A possessor of this visa is authorized to go outside Australia and return within the timeframe expressed on the bridging visa grant notice. To apply for a subclass 020- BVB, an individual must be a holder of a Bridging visa A or a Bridging visa B and is also is required to make a prior application for a substantive visa, the decision on which is is yet to be determined, or the Individual must have made an application for a judicial review of a decision relating to their previously lodged substantive visa application, within the prescribed timeframe, and the judicial review proceedings have not yet been completed.
A subclass 020 Bridging visa B also provides its holder with an opportunity to work if the applicant can demonstrate that they are facing financial hardship. An applicant might be permitted to undertake work in Australia based on the visa conditions that apply to their BVB. If the existing BVB does not permit work or has restrictions on working, one can apply for another BVB that allows an applicant to undertake work.
