Subclass 102 adoption visa allows an overseas adopted child to live with their adoptive parents in Australia. This adoption visa allows those children to stay in Australia who are going to be adopted or are adopted by an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen.   • The child should be under 18 years of age when the adoption is made

  • If the child’s age is below 18 while making the application and subsequently turns 18 before the application is decided, his application will not be considered, and he shall not be eligible for this visa.
  • The Department shall not grant this visa if it is against the best interests of the adoptive child who is younger than 18 years of age.
  • The child is required to comply with the visa conditions attached to this subclass
    • Should comply with Australian laws.
    • Should not enter Australia before a specific date (Before the adoptive parent enters Australia).
    • Should not get married or enter into a de-facto relationship before arriving in Australia.
