Subclass 417 Visa-Working Holiday visa- Subclass 417 is structured for those eligible young adults who wish to have an extended holiday and work in the country to fund it. This visa is further categorised as
First Working Holiday visa – This visa allows eligible individual tourists of 18-30 years of age group (inclusive) and French, Canadian, and Irish citizens who are 18- to 35-year-old (inclusive) to have an extended holiday while supplementing their fund by short- term work in the country.
Second Working Holiday visa- This visa allows eligible individual tourists of 18-30 years of age (inclusive) and French, Canadian, and Irish citizens 18 to 35 years old (inclusive), who have held or currently hold a working holiday visa (subclass 417) to have a second working holiday visa.
Third Working Holiday visa- This visa allows individual eligible tourists of 18-30 years of age (inclusive) and French, Canadian, and Irish citizens who are 18 to 35 years old (inclusive), who have held or currently hold a second working holiday visa (subclass 417) to have a third working holiday visa.

The holders of a working holiday visa can also undertake an education program and study in the country for up to four months. The visa also allows its holders to move in and out of the country till the visa is valid.
It is also suggested to opt for health and travel insurance to limit the unforeseen expenses. Sometimes, the Department may again ask for health and/ or travel insurance for the visa form processing. There are certain countries that hold a reciprocal health agreement with Australia. If you are a national of one such country, you need no insurance cover.
Before applying for the subclass 417 visa applications, the applicant must ensure that they hold a valid passport; if not, it is advisable to get a fresh passport before applying for the visa application form.
The usual processing time for a working holiday visa ranges from one-four months. However, the processing time for a third working holiday visa may be a little higher or lower based on the volume of visa application forms. Generally, the verification procedure for a temporary visa is less thorough than a permanent visa category. The Department may ask for extra information from both the applicants and the external agencies (if any)
