Government Announces National Planning Level for New International Students in 2025

The Australian Government has unveiled a major update for the international education sector, setting a new National Planning Level (NPL) for international student commencement at 2,70,000 for the year 2025.  

Breakdown of the National Planning Level 

  • Publicly Funded Universities: 1,45,000 new international student commencements.  
  • Other Universities & Non-University Higher Education Providers: 30,000 new international student commencements.  
  • Vocational Education and Training (VET) Sector: 90,000 new international student commencements.  

Australia is reconfirming its status as a leading international education hub, with a goal of attracting 270,000 new international students by 2025. Aquiring this goal will demand the united efforts of various stakeholders, such as college administrators, professors, policymakers, and global students and their families, establishing the government’s dedication. 

145,000 will go to public institutes, 30,000 to other colleges, and 90,000 to vocational education and training providers. 

Australia’s objective is to improve its multinational standing by advocating a diverse choice of organizations and encouraging an inclusive educational setting. This comprehensive approach aims to draw in more global students, improving academic and cultural backgrounds for everyone included.
