Objective

  • Deliver accurate, ethical migration advice and application support to clients in line with MARA Code of Conduct and Australian immigration law.
  • Achieve target outcomes for visa applications and client satisfaction while maintaining compliance and documentation standards.
  • Contribute to team capability and stay current with legislation, policy, and procedural changes affecting visa categories.

Organization relationships

Reports to: Migration Team Leader / Senior Migration Agent

Other: Works closely with Migration Team, Visa Counselors, Admissions, and Admin.

General duties and responsibilities

  • Assess client eligibility for relevant visa subclasses (e.g. skilled, student, family, partner) and provide clear advice on options, requirements, and timelines.
  • Prepare and lodge visa applications (e.g. subclass 189, 190, 491, student, partner) and associated documentation in line with department requirements.
  • Maintain client files, correspondence, and records in accordance with regulatory and internal standards.
  • Communicate with clients and relevant authorities in a timely and professional manner; keep clients informed of progress and any changes.
  • Participate in training and professional development to maintain MARA registration and stay current with immigration law and policy.

Core duties and responsibilities

  • Case Management: Manage a diverse caseload of visa applications from initial assessment through to outcome, ensuring deadlines and compliance requirements are met.
  • Client Advice: Provide expert advice on visa pathways, eligibility, and strategy; explain procedures, costs, and risks in plain language.
  • Documentation and Lodgement: Prepare and review visa applications, forms, and supporting documents; lodge applications and respond to requests from the Department.
  • Compliance and Ethics: Adhere to MARA Code of Conduct and legislative requirements; ensure confidentiality and data protection.
  • Reporting and Collaboration: Maintain accurate records and contribute to internal reporting; work with other agents, counselors, and admin as required.
  • Further duties may be assigned as per role needs or management discretion.

Skills required

  • Current MARA registration (or eligibility to obtain) and sound knowledge of Australian immigration law and common visa subclasses.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; ability to explain complex requirements clearly and to prepare accurate documentation.
  • Experience managing visa applications and client caseloads; attention to detail and adherence to deadlines.
  • Professional and ethical approach; ability to handle sensitive information and maintain client confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in standard office and case management tools; ability to work in a team and independently.
