Express Entry is a digital platform Canadian authorities use to manage visa applications for skilled workers seeking permanent residency in Canada. It mainly covers three federal economic programs;

✅ Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSW),

✅ Federal Skilled Trades (FST),

✅ Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

To submit a profile via Express Entry Canada, applicants must fulfil the eligibility criteria for one of the above programs.

Canada Express Entry: Why should you apply?

✅ Best way to get permanent residency in Canada.

✅ No employment offer is needed.

✅ Higher possibility of getting selected.

✅ Fast processing time.

✅ Express Entry Canada’s success rate is high.

✅ Chance for citizenship in Canada.

✅ In 2024, 1,10,770 ITAs will be issued.

One of the most preferred options for skilled professionals from abroad to obtain PR in Canada is via the Canada Express Entry Program. Canada will raise the frequency of Express Entry draws to meet the country’s workforce requirements.

Requirements for Express Entry Canada

Below are the specific requirements you must consider in order to apply for the express entry program:

✅ Have a minimum of one year of job experience in a skilled occupation within the past decade (10 years), either full-time or part-time.

✅ Obtained a minimum CLB (Canadian Language Benchmark) score, i.e., 7 (in English or French).

✅ Successfully completed higher education that is assessed as per the Canadian criteria through an ECA (Education Credential Assessment).

The above criteria are a must to be eligible for Express Entry Program Canada as a skilled worker. However, completing these criteria does not guarantee you will be invited to apply for PR (permanent residency) in Canada. Those with stronger qualifications will have better possibilities of being chosen over those who only meet the basic criteria.

It gives points based on six important factors: skills, job experience, education, and other criteria. The higher your CRS score is, the better your chances of being invited to submit the application for permanent residency (PR) in Canada. The highest possible score on the points system is 1200, with assessment criteria for both you and your spouse/marital partner.

✅ Age

✅ The advanced level of education

✅ Language proficiency skills

✅ Canadian job experience

✅ Other work history

✅ Transferability of skills

Eligibility Criteria for Express Entry Canada

To prepare for Express Entry, the candidates must get a minimum of 67 (sixty-seven) points out of 100. To apply for the PR visa in Canada, you have to achieve at least 67 points through diverse eligibility requirements. The Express Entry Canada eligibility points calculator follows the criteria given below:

Age: Maximum points can be scored if your age is between 18-35 years.

Education Qualification: You must have a minimum level of advanced school education in Canada. Having a great educational qualification results in an increased number of points.

Language Proficiency: You have to score at least 6 bands in the IELTS exam equal to CLB 7 to qualify for applying and acquire the minimum points. More scores mean more points.

Job Experience: To score the least points, you must have a minimum of one year of job experience.

Adaptability: If you have someone from your family or close relatives living in Canada who can support you when you relocate, you can achieve ten points on the adaptability factor. If your marital partner or spouse is willing to move to Canada along with you, you can also earn points.

Job Offer: Having a pre-job offer from a Canadian employer lets you acquire 10 points under arranged employment.

Express Entry Canada Profile Creation

✅ The very first step in creating an express entry profile is to complete your ECA. If your education was completed outside of Canada, you should obtain an ECA (Educational Credentials Assessment). The ECA shows that your education details match the standards of the Canadian education system. An NSDC & qualification check can be done to speed up the process, but it is not mandatory.

✅ The next step is finishing the mandatory English Proficiency exams. The minimum requirement is to score a band 6 in IELTS, which is equal to CLB 7. The test score you provide should be acquired within the past two years of applying.

✅ Having French language proficiency will give you a competitive benefit against other candidates. Taking a French language test such as the Test de Evaluation de Francians (TEF) will demonstrate your level of proficiency in the language.

✅ The third step is to create an Express Entry profile online. The profile must include information regarding your age, job experience, language skills, and more, based on which you will get a score. In case you get required points and qualify, you can then submit your EEP profile.

✅ If your profile gets placed in the Express Entry pool, it will be evaluated as per the CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) score. Factors including age, job history, flexibility, etc., are utilized to calculate the CRS points. If you have the required CRS points, your profile will be moved to the Express Entry pool. To qualify for this program, you must score at least 67 out of 100 points.

✅ In case your profile gets approved, you will receive an ITA from Canada’s government, after which you can begin gathering the documents required for a Permanent Resident Visa.
